Christmas and Disney. These two words capture the essence of our new video for Mercury Jewellery. The main objective in the video was to create a holiday atmosphere and to showcase the brand’s top festive product – bearshaped pendants – in a non-advertising way.

Characters Development
First, we spent some time creating a sketch – a technical drawing, as if we were jewelry designers. The sketch helped us to get all the proportions and shapes right, in line with the real piece of jewelry. We then stylized the
bears, making them more artful and painterly, drawing on Disney for inspiration. We essentially kept the design, adding internal lines for volume and working on the fill.
Backgrounds
The basis for all of the backgrounds is a Christmas tree its attributes, so we focused on those fine details when developing the design. We used two brushes: watercolor and pencil. The watercolor brush was necessary for the basic shape and to add dark tones and depth. The pencil brush was used for the fine details and the foreground.
The background compositions incorporate other pieces from the brand’s jewelry collection. These elements create a magical, holiday atmosphere. To illustrate the splendor, brilliance and elegance of the jewelry, we proposed using a pictorial (“hand-drawn”) graphical style. Here, we have volume, a play of light and shadow, and gradient shading.
